Description
The present work is basically an attempt to present in detail a clear reconstruction and systematic formulation of the theoretical and practical basis of the transpersonalist’s and Sri Aurobindo’s views on a new approach and image of man. In this comparative study the author has tried to clarify various psychological concepts from two different cultures and placed them in their respective context which underlies them. He feels the need for a constructive and fruitful dialogue between Transpersonal psychotherapy and Sri Aurobindo’s sadhana; he does not claim sole allegiance to anyone orientation, as there are simultaneously multiple visions or truths about psychotherapy and sadhana. With this end in view the author has made an endeavour in helping the reader to understand the transpersonalist,s and Sri Aurobindo’s views in their psychological foundation, and he has tried to bring together the insights of Sri Aurobindo’s integral psychology with the discoveries of Transpersonal psychology.
